Club Charter | Club Officers | Join Western Executives | Club History Western Excutives Club History Originally there were a couple of chapters of the Executive Club, set up and sponsored by the Executive Industries (EI). They were located geographically throughout the U.S. by EI. In 1986, at a rally of the Executive Club in San Marcos, Texas, Al & Daisy Gandalfy, Bill & Mary Ames and Tom & Maxine Russell decided to start their own chapter in the western states for EI owners. Thus Western Executives was born. This chapter had the full sponsorship of EI and held their first rally at Flying Flags in Buellton, CA 9-4/7-1986. Approx. 35 Executive coaches attended, dominated by the newer bronze and beige colored coaches, with the exception of Tom & Maxine’s “greenie” coach ( a coach offered in the 70’s by EI, primarily white with greenie, thus the nickname). One owner thinking as a charter member of the club and having just taken delivery of his new coach, he would be a stand alone guy there. Much to his chagrin he arrived to find everyone looked alike except for the Russell’s. After the acquisition of the limited assets of EI by Monaco, the Western Executive Club was not affected, they had the Executive Club and Monaco International involved for their brands and went on about their business. Kay Toolson and Page Robertson, originally with EI, were now with Monaco and continued to be involved with Western Executives and have Monaco sponsor the club in its activities and rallies. The club has continued to have three rallies annually with attendance fluctuating between 20 to 50 coaches per rally. Some long lasting and permanent friendships have evolved from the club and now mutual land holdings are the norm for the club, Western Executives congregating in Oregon on a riverbank, like the swallows returning to Mission San Juan Capistrano each year. In May 2008 the club voted to include the owner of Signatures and Dynastys in our membership upon their initial purchase. This was done to give them the opportunity to join our group as many had been previously turned away because of by-law restrictions. We now believe that our membership will grow to its previous high of 100 members.
