Who Are The Western Executives

The Western Executives started with a group of owners of the former Executives Industries (founded in 1972 & Executive brand bought out in 1991 by Monaco) gas and eventually diesel coaches. Kay Toolson, the current CEO of Monaco, was the CEO of Executive Ind. at the time of the change over.

The club was founded and chartered by FMCA in 1986 with approx. 30 coaches for starters. At the present time there are three of the original charter members still counted in the membership. In the beginning the membership was exclusive of the owners of the Executive motor coach and not the other brands produced by the original company such as the Diplomat.

Club members got together three times annually for a get-together (rally) and socialized. A club member also produced a technical support publication, advising of problems in the coaches and how to remedy those situations. The factory also was closely associated and sponsored club activities through the following 5+ years.

After the change over from Executive Ind. to Monaco the club began an association with Monaco that has endured to the present. The rules of membership have changed some since the beginning because of the sponsorship of Monaco for the club. One must have owned an Executive from either manufacturer to join the club. Once a member the member may change coaches and buy a newer coach and still remain a member as long as that newer coach is manufactured by Monaco.

In May of 2008 the club saw a need to allow other makes of Monaco products in the club due to interested parties wanting to join. The club opened initial membership to owners of Signatures and Dynasty's as their entry coach, with the same rules applying to the subsequent purchase of another Monaco product.

The club concentrates on obtaining members from California, Arizona and Nevada. We have a number of members from outside these States and Canada but it does not prohibit them from joining and attending our rallies which are usually held in California, Arizona, Nevada or even Mexico.

The benefits of belonging to the club are obvious, the fun and mutual interest in the brand of coach and the problem solving ability through the experience of club members and the association with the manufacture. Our Board of Directors recently took survey of the membership on coach ownership and found of the members responding to the survey had owned an average of 2.7 Executives and/or Signatures in their RVing careers. There were three owners who had owned 7 Executive or Signature coaches just while members of the club. That got the attention of the factory and dealers as to our club brand loyalty. This has brought about a great sponsorship of the club in their rallies.

Each member receives a newsletter after each rally and a business meeting is held a each rally. The club has never been insolvent and through the rally fees is able to furnish a space and five catered meals and a continental breakfast (on get away day) at each rally. Donated door prizes are given away after each Saturday evenings meal and get together. Some rally masters are able to furnish evening entertainment out of their rally budget and also pay for field trip admission fees of attendees.

We hope you find our club to fill a gap in your RVing travels and we welcome you to join us at one of our rallies and get acquainted. We hope that you will feel like joining the club and enjoying all that it and its members have to offer.
